Class Cancellations:
There will be no classes Saturday classes on March 8 - Guro at the
Inosanto Academy, April 26
due to the Women's Self Defense Seminars, and March 15-16th
(Filipino Arts Camp). Students should continue to work on their own during
this time and maintain focus on the theme for the month.

Featured Technique.
Filipino Arts Camp
- March 15-16, 2008
This years camp will be the Armas De Mano's 5th annual camp with
Guro Pat Kelly and Guro David leading the
two day event to success. To maintain our "what works"
strategy, we will continue to
offer joint teaching sessions for both the beginner practitioner and
intermediate/advanced level practitioner throughout the training
sessions.

Professor Imi Okazaki - Dojo
Remembrance Memorial (October 10, 1939 - January 5, 2008)
The Midwest Academy wishes to extend their deepest sympathies to the
family of Professor Okazaki. As the youngest daughter of the
Late Henry Okazaki (founder of Kodenkan Jujitsu), she leaves us with
her fight against lung cancer. Professor Okazaki had many
martial arts accomplishments in her lifetime.
As a student of Hanshi Bruce Juchnik, Kosho Shorei Ryu Kempo, Hanshi gave me the opportunity to get to know her over the past 10 years. Like many who had this opportunity to spend time with her, she loved us all. On a personal level, we became good friends over these years and had many a laugh to tell. She was a mentor and leader to many men and women martial artists across the world, and her passion for teaching was unsurpassed by those having the honor to be in her presence.
During the month of January, Professor Okazaki's picture will hang from the Academy's kamiza along with flowers presented at the dojo memorial ceremony attended by the schools students.
May you Rest in Peace! I will miss you!
